CROWN DUAL begins when Harry Jennings, a senior history lecturer at Exeter, is asked to search for an old document which his client believes came ashore during a shipwreck on the Lizard, in south west Cornwall. The search begins in Helston and soon takes him to Church Cove.
Around the same time, his old friend, analyst and occasional Conundrum-solver George Gilbert, arrives to review security at the Goonhilly Earth Station. Could it handle the projected Space Station at Newquay? But before she even starts work, she is challenged to help a local police officer rescue a capsized wind surfer at Coverack. But why ever does the surfer disappear so quickly from the local hospital?
There are many twists and turns before the stories start to overlap. Both Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie have parts to play and even Brexit makes an occasional appearance.
